Tele2, headquartered in Sweden, has over 30 million customers in 10 countries and offers mobile communication services, data network services, fixed broadband and telephony, cable TV and content services. Mobile communications is a primary focus area and an important growth segment accounting for more than 60% of Tele2’s operating revenue. With over a million new activations or service change orders per month, Tele2’s account provisioning systems were being outpaced by the company’s rapid growth.
Tele2 selected ActiveVOS business process management system (BPMS) to pilot their “fixed-line provisioning with services” project because it solved an immediate pain point and exhibited many of the same issues as future mobile provisioning projects. Combining a mixture of human and system tasks, ActiveVOS processes were developed and implemented in a third of the time compared to Tele2’s former open source approach.
