Essential Portfolio and Safety Tips for Potential Models

Award winning Master Photographer Steve Parker discusses ways to create excellent portfolios whilst remaining safe ahead of instructional seminar.

(I-Newswire) October 5, 2010 - The ‘So, you want to be a model?’ event at The Quality Inn, Stoke will provide information for men, women and children of all ages looking to break into the modelling industry.

Steve will be one of four experts giving advice to aspiring models about how to achieve success and has shared a few top tips ahead of the seminar giving a glimpse into the kind of advice attendees should expect to receive.

He said: “Firstly you need to have a good understanding of what sort of model you want to be (glamour, fashion, plus size etc) in order to create the right sort of portfolio and ensure that this portfolio is created by a professional photographer whose work you have seen personally.”

“It is important that you learn how to pose properly as the photographer will expect you to not just pose but also add variations to that pose.”

“Before signing any agency contracts ensure you read them thoroughly multiple times and finally be safety conscious, never attend a shoot or job without a chaperone unless you know the photographer, agent or event organiser well.”

In his presentation at the event Steve will expand on these tips in addition to discussing many others which will be invaluable to anyone considering a career in modelling.
