Erin Lale's Blog Blasts Media Coverage of Christine O'Donnell Tea Party Witch

Erin Lale, Libertarian candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 29, blogged that a TV news story about O'Donnell which featured nose-winking sitcom clips is offensive and asked, "Can you imagine the TV news mocking Islam in this way?"

Erin Lale, Libertarian candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 29, blogged that a TV news story about O'Donnell which featured nose-winking sitcom clips is offensive and asked, "Can you imagine the TV news mocking Islam in this way?"

In her blog post "Politics and Witchcraft" on her MySpace blog, Lale's Magical Thinking Emporium, Lale praised the clip of the Rev. Selena Fox pointing out that Wiccans don't believe in Satan, but said the mocking music, clips of the nose-twinking sitcom witch, and clips playing on the resemblance of the word "witch" to a word that rhymes with it, were offensive.

Lale is the author of Asatru For Beginners and hopes to become the second (after New York City Councilman Dan Halloran) openly heathen American elected to public office. Like O'Donnell, Lale counts a Tea Party endorsement among her campaign accomplishments, from the Nevada group Anger is Brewing.

Lale asked, "What if O'Donnell had said she had dabbled in Islam? Would the media be running clips of a sitcom genie then?"
