Small-business consultant Brad Farris has launched EnMast.com - a treasure trove of accessible and actionable business advice and tools for small-business owners - filling the void for an online resource made just for small-business owners.

EnMast founder Brad Farris launched the site as a service of Anchor Advisors, a Chicago-based business consulting firm that has helped hundreds of business owners since 2001. "In working with business owners, I found that they experience the same types of issues, and that those issues generally have the same solutions," Farris said. "So over time, I started developing documents, templates and processes that my clients could pull out at any time for reference. Their response to my 'Cliff Notes for Business Owners' made me think other business owners would find value in them too."

And during EnMast's beta testing phase, Farris found his inclination to be right. The site experienced a high volume of traffic and reader interaction almost immediately. EnMast editors closely monitored site traffic, noting which subjects spurred the most "shares" and comments. Not surprisingly, the most popular posts and tools coincided with the areas that Farris' clients commonly grappled with:
• Finances - budgeting, profitability, determining salaries
• Hiring - job descriptions, candidate screening
• Human Resources - conflict resolution, firing
• Leadership - how to "lead" a business instead of "running" it
• Management - team building that brings about results
• Marketing - SEO, social media, traditional marketing
• Productivity - proven processes and technology aids
• Sales - increase sales in today's competitive marketplace

He added that the website was designed with a business owner's busy schedule in mind. "Typically, you would need to hire multiple consultants to gain the insight and knowledge that EnMast provides," Farris said. "On top of the cost involved in bringing in consultants, there is also the investment of the business owner's time. With EnMast, you can take what you need - and then get back to work."

EnMast offers a wide variety of free content for owners of businesses of all sizes, from one-man shops to businesses with hundreds of employees. In addition, the site offers members-only access to Tools & Templates, webinars and e-books. Membership information may be found here.
