EMusic Costs Less, Gives Users More Freedom To Enjoy Their Downloads
With 17 million available tracks from artists like Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber, and prices as low as $0.44 per song, eMusic is an affordable and viable alternative to iTunes.
New York, NY (I-Newswire) October 19, 2012 - Autumn is a time of change, and eMusic is offering new members $20 to change the habit of over-paying for music.
eMusic has the distinction of being the first online music store. Since 1998, members of this music subscription service have been able to expand their digital collections for $0.49 per track, or less, depending on the personalized plan they choose. Plans start as low as $11.99 per month for 24 songs, which works out to be less than 1/2 the price of iTunes. The top plan costs $31.99 per month and includes 73 songs; that is $0.44 per song, or 1/3 the price of iTunes. Members who buy a lot of music would pay $31.99 at eMusic for what they would receive for $94 at iTunes.
eMusic's 17 million tracks are available to be downloaded onto any digital media player, including iPods, iPhones, Zunes, and all other MP3 devices. Once downloaded, members own each song; downloads are permanent and may be put onto any number of the member's own digital devices. Unlike iTunes and other services which allow purchasers to copy each song to only five digital devices, eMusic has no limits, as long as each device is owned by the member.
"Our catalog of downloads includes many familiar and off-the-beaten-path releases from both major and independent labels," an eMusic spokesperson said. eMusic's catalog features many of today's biggest stars including: Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Ke$ha, as well as the songs of Woodie Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Dizzy Gillespie, and more.
"What makes us different than other online music services including Apple’s iTunes, Google Play, and other subscription services," eMusic states, "is that we are a unique community of music enthusiasts who dig deep into music. Our catalog is as diverse as your taste. So we make sure our 17 million tracks reflect that. The difference between eMusic and other services is in the details."
eMusic is more than just an iTunes alternative. "We offer music enthusiasts an experience, not just a song, because the more you know about the music, the better it sounds." In fact, eMusic's features, such as its editorial staff's reviews, artist biographies and reviews, music "community" recommendations, and eMusic Scenes, bring to life the stories behind the music its members love.
Membership also entitles users to listen to eMusic radio and to purchase audio books from its extensive catalog.
