Eco Exploration Announces 2013 Logo Design Winner

Santiago based mineral exploration company Eco Exploration are delighted to announce Cheng Li (China) the winner of the company's logo design contest.

Santiago (I-Newswire) February 25, 2013 - Following a long process of judgement and elimination, Eco Exploration's judging committee has finally selected the winning logo design contest entry, which was submitted in late January by Chinese national Mr Cheng Li, whose entry is scheduled to be implemented as the replacement corporate emblem for all media publications as of March 1st 2013.

From the 714 entries received prior to the finalised deadline of February 20th 2013, a short list of 50 entries were selected by the competition judges, and were consequently given scores on a ratings scale of 1-10 based on categories such as overall aesthetic appeal, versatility, originality and significance. Eco Exploration CEO Mr Andrew Davis said “We have selected a design that we feel represents our progression and development as a company. The rationale behind the logo revamp was always to symbolise our growth as a company and our investments abroad in new areas”.

Competition organiser and company Chairman Mr Hector Romero commented on the entries received saying “Many of the received entries were broadly similar to the existing logo, and were based upon Chilean flag with three sided elements representing the tri-layer process of extraction, production and distribution of minerals”.

Ultimately however the winning logo is drastically different from the old design, and Eco Exploration's judges have said this is because they were looking to revamp and modernise the logo, whilst retaining only some of the existing symbolism.

Competition winner Mr Cheng Li of China said “I hoped, but never thought my entry would win. I'm really happy I have won though, because I can now use the prize money to pay for my graphic design company start-up”.
