Eckankar News: Spiritual Seminar for Personal Growth and Healing

On April 6-8, opportunities for personal growth and healing beyond traditional prayer, meditation, and orthodox religion will be presented at the 2012 Eckankar Springtime Seminar, Hilton Minneapolis.

Eckankar presents the 2012 Eckankar Springtime Seminar, "Spiritual Transformation in The Year of Graceful Living," on Friday, April 6, through Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Hilton Minneapolis, 1001 Marquette Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar and an award-winning author of more than seventy-five books, will be the featured speaker. In his talks he often offers answers to age-old questions about how to experience personal growth and healing when faced with challenges. Guests may register at the seminar for complimentary Saturday sessions by going to the Eckankar Guest Welcome Center in the Hilton Minneapolis second-floor foyer. Drop in or stay all day. More information about the seminar and online preregistration are available at http://www.ECKseminars.org.

Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar, says Eckankar seminars are "a place where people who are looking and have found truth can be together."

Peter Skelskey, president of Eckankar, gives an example of how Eckankar seminar workshops help people connect with others who share similar experiences: "Many people remember dreams of past lives, or they have had visions or out-of-body experiences. Before this, they might have been afraid to tell anyone about such a spiritual experience. When they come to an Eckankar seminar workshop, they can feel comfortable sharing with others, and grow spiritually as a result. It can bring a healing of the heart."

The seminar's main program consists of talks, panels, and creative arts. Small roundtable discussions, informal spiritual chats, and social gatherings present opportunities to meet people of like spiritual mind and heart from around the world. The seminar program explores topics such as past lives, dreams, and Soul Travel. This reflects interests revealed in a 2009 Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life poll: Twenty-four percent of people polled said they believe in reincarnation. Nearly three in ten Americans say they have felt in touch with someone who has passed on.

The seminar's keynote speaker, Harold Klemp, offers spiritual wisdom about why spiritual healing is necessary for personal growth and understanding physical health. He says, "The process of spiritual healing teaches us something about ourselves we didn't know before. When the eyes are in trouble, we have to ask, What am I not seeing about my spiritual life that is causing me difficulty with my eyesight?" He adds, "As karma surfaces, it works out through the weakest point in our body. As quickly as we can release our attachment to whatever is hurting us, we allow the karma to pass off quickly, and our health stays balanced."

For people who are new to Eckankar (guests), the seminar includes a complimentary day and evening on Saturday, April 7. An introduction to Eckankar with question-and-answer sessions takes place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and continues from 11:30 to noon at the Hilton Minneapolis, Marquette V, Second Floor. Topics of morning and afternoon guest workshops are: "Understanding Eckankar" and "Life-Changing Spiritual Exercises."

After Harold Klemp's keynote talk at the Saturday-evening session, there will be a "Guest Chat" where guests can ask questions and share experiences. An attendee at a previous Eckankar seminar said, "I have been in a low ebb in my life. This seminar has raised my consciousness to a higher level and again opened my heart. It helped me learn how to love myself and love others as Soul."
