Dundas Chiropractic Welcomes Malak Yassa Back from Sabbatical

Ms. Malak Yassa recently returned from a sabbatical, and will resume private practice at Dundas Chiropractic. Her expertise in neurological, musculoskeletal and rheumatologic injuries and conditions are a valuable asset to us at Dundas Chiropractic

Dundas Chiropractic is pleased to welcome Ms. Malak Yassa, B.Sc., P.T., back from sabbatical to rejoin fellow practitioners in private practice. She is accepting new patients and return patients for immediate appointments.

Malak specializes in working with patients who suffer from neurological, musculoskeletal, and rheumatologic conditions, and also has worked with paediatric conditions such as torticollis.

She has vast knowledge and experience as a physiotherapist, implementing joint mobilization, traction, myofascial releases, Active Release Therapy, and physical modalities-including ultrasound, laser, and interferential current-as needed for patients with complex physiotherapy and chiropractic needs. In addition, Malak works with patients to create individualized therapeutic exercise programs and educate them on proper care to avoid injury and prevent pain in the future. As part of her comprehensive approach to pain management, Malak has experience with natural healing methods such as acupuncture, and can incorporate those treatments into patients' treatment plans as needed.

As a 2001 graduate of Queen's University with a bachelor of science in Physiotherapy, Malak has extensive exposure to evidence-based research around the topics of pain relief and restoring patients' functional movement through cutting-edge treatments and techniques. She uses this combination of research and clinical experience to work with each patient on an individualized basis.

Malak received the Rehabilitation Science Merit Award for academic excellent in the physiotherapy program at Queen's University, and maintains an active membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA).

Prior to her work at Dundas Chiropractic, she ran the Osteoporosis and Fibromyalgia Clinics at St. Joseph Health Centre in Toronto.
