Dubai World Championship Golf Artist in Residence for a Third Year

Top Golf Artist Mark Robinson, off the back of a successful,'Open Champions' exhibition at the Northern Ireland Assembly has been invited to be Artist in Residence for the third time at the European tour's, 2011, Dubai World Championship.

Dubai (I-Newswire) December 8, 2011 - The top golfers in the world will be on show at this year's tournament and golf artist Mark Robinson will be there to record his view of players and golf fans alike.

Dubai based Mark has been the artist in residence for the past two years and has painted portraits of the Race to Dubai Winner on both ocassions.

Specializing in golfer portraits, Mark has just come back from his home country, Northern Ireland where he was invited by the Northern Irish Assembly to Exhibit in the Stormont Great Hall.

'The Open Champions Collection'. An Exhibition to promote Northern Irish golf.

The collection of eight canvases included Rory McIlroy, Graeme Mc Dowell, Darren Clarke and a past winner of the Open Championship, Fred Daly, were well recieved by the Northern irish public and Media alike. The BBC also covered the event.

The collection is now touring various venues in Northern Ireland and then the rest of the world.

On the 'Dubai World Championship' commission, Mark commented, "It is an honour to be invited back for a third tournament. I really look forward to the week, it's very relaxed and people are always in good spirits. Especially around the 17th".

"This year I will go further a field on the course, spending three of the four days painting quick sketches in acrylics and watercolour from unusual view points."

Mark also painted at this year's Emirates invitational, hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah. Two of Mark's golf portraits were auctioned at the Gary Player Charity Ball held at The Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi in March 2011.

His portraits are owned by many of the Golfing World's top players and coaches. Mark Robinson has exhibited Internationally.
