Drama Rainbow Introduces Famous British Drama in Education to Beijing Kindergarten Kids with TiE Shows

Finally Chinese children get a chance top break out of the copy-cat culture with creativity training that cultivates imagination and innovation - all in a very fun way!

Today at a press conference one of Drama Rainbow's directors, Mr. Anthony announced with great pride that Drama Rainbow has put together the first TIE (Theater In Education) team, which will soon be visiting dozens of kindergartens throughout Beijing to introduce Chinese students and parents to the unique, popular, and successful teaching method from the U.K. known as Drama in Education.

TiE is the little sister to DiE which inserts DiE students into a show that illustrates how the British creativity training methods benefit children from any country and culture.

Drama in Education or "DiE" for short, utilizes drama and story-telling as a platform to teach young children to think creatively, using inquiry and their own imagination that fosters and cultivates original thinking and ideas. DiE was first introduced in China in 2008 by Drama Rainbow, but has been thriving in the U.K. and Europe for well over 25 years, where it has become very popular with parents. Studies at many universities including UCLA and Stanford, as well as the European DICE project, have all proven that children in their formative years (3 to 8 years old) who have been exposed to DiE, develop IQs and test scores that are 10%-20% higher than their peers, as well as much higher levels of confidence, communication, and social skills. Both TiE & DiE uses interactive role-play where the children themselves determine the paths and outcomes of every story in which they play key roles.

Within these imaginary stories kids get to solve problems, a chance to become leaders, and express themselves freely with no limits on their imagination. This child-centered education teaches children a new, highly effective way to learn by actually doing.

Drama Rainbow is so excited about TiE (Theater in Education)in China that it has allocated a budget to recruit a TiE team headed by Ms. Marphy who graduated with honors from Beijing Academy of Drama and obtained her master's degree in TiE in the U.K. where both TiE and DiE were born.

As Ms. Marphy explains, "We don't tell kids what to think or believe, we just teach them how to think creatively by habit so they will have more choices and opportunities in life as adults."

The studies mentioned above indicate that although Chinese students rank number 1 in the world for math and mental computations, they rank 147 out of 155 countries for creativity! Most educators in China blame the cultural revolution for this lack of creativity, since up to the end of the Qing dynasty, China's society was very creative with China accounting for more than 30% of the world's inventions, as compared to only 2% over the last 75 years. As any scientist will attest - "Ideas can't happen without imagination".

Parents of children in kindergarten are encouraged to get a taste of DiE personally by asking their Kindergarten to cooperate with a community TIE show that will provide the opportunity for their own children to participate in the show. For details parents can contact Ella Ma at 86-010-8255-1396.

To understand how DiE cultivates creativity and imagination in young children, the public can obtain a free demo class for their children or visit www.DramaRainbow.com for more information. DiE has been endorsed by many child psychologists around the world including Dr. Alfred Chambers of Canada and Beijing's own Dr. Cai Jing Kun. For Demo class scheduling, please call 010-8255-3948.
