(I-Newswire) July 29, 2010 - Dr. Kenneth Reed of North American Spine was named the Featured Physician of the month in May by Forest Park Medical Center. Dr. Reed has been operating at Forest Park Medical Center since May 2009.

Specialty board certified in internal medicine, anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Reed is well known for performing the AccuraScope procedure, a unique pain management procedure only performed by North American Spine physicians. Currently, the AccuraScope Procedure is only available at Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas as well as Dayton, Ohio. The AccuraScope procedure is a unique minimally invasive procedure that allows physicians to diagnose and treat acute and chronic back pain problems caused by herniated or bulging discs, scar tissue, stenosis, sciatica and other ailments.

In 2009, D Magazine named Dr. Reed one of the Best Doctors in Dallas. Dr. Reed has published and presented papers on various topics in pain management, and more specifically, he has developed new uses of implantable neurostimulators for the control of pain. He developed the use of implantable stimulators for the problem of various types of severe, intractable headaches techniques that are now used around the world. Additionally, Dr. Reed is a recognized teaching specialist for training physicians in specialized techniques of implantable neurostimulation.

Dr. Reed was an honors graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, which is limited to the top of the graduating class. He then completed two separate residency programs in internal medicine and anesthesiology.
