Dorene Petersen, American College of Healthcare Sciences President and Founder, Awarded National Association of Nutrition Professionals Service Award at 2014

The American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) is very proud to announce that ACHS President & Founder Dorene Petersen was awarded the 2014 Service award from the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) at the 2014 NANP Conference.

The NANP Service award is presented to NANP members in recognition of their exceptional efforts to grow the holistic nutrition community by building connections and mentoring. The NANP Service award is peer nominated, and the recipient is selected by popular vote. The award was presented to Petersen at the conference, which took place from April 25-27, 2014 at the Hilton El Conquistador in Tucson, Arizona.

"I am tremendously honored to be recognized by the NANP with the Service award," says Petersen. "It's been my great pleasure to collaborate with exceptional organizations like NANP to advance the holistic nutrition and wellness industry. I am humbled to be counted among the very best in the holistic nutrition community, among those who are making such wonderful endeavors to help our society become healthier through nutrition."

Petersen is an innovator who is passionate about sharing her knowledge of holistic health with both her students and colleagues. Her student-focused philosophy has led to her success as an educator, and her generous willingness to mentor others has contributed to her success as a business woman—making her a model among her peers.

Her greatest accomplishments support her vision for future holistic health professions and occupations to which ACHS graduates aspire. Dorene is an active member of many professional organizations, including NANP, has served on various planning committees, and has supported the growth and development of emerging holistic health professions for more than 35 years.

Petersen attended the Conference & Expo along with staff members from the American College of Healthcare Sciences, where they met with students, alumni, and prospective students. Attendees were also able to hear valuable lectures on holistic nutrition, learn more about ACHS programs in holistic health and nutrition, meet and network with industry professionals, and enjoy many other professional and educational benefits.
