Discrete Headwear Announces David Wise Added to the 2011-12 Team

Salt Lake City, UT (I-Newswire) November 3, 2011 - Salt Lake City, UT Discrete Sport, LLC, a rider owned and conceived headwear brand in the winter sport industry, is proud to announce the addition of David Wise to their athlete program. Equipped with some of the most technical tricks on the competition scene and a host of top ten and podium finishes in his break out 2011 season, he is ready to showcase Discrete and make a solid addition to a well rounded Discrete athlete roster.

Discrete has committed to sponsor David because he stands out among the halfpipe skiing pack with a combination of technicality, style, and powerful amplitude. David is among the ranks of only five athletes invited to be a part of the new US Freeskiing team. Well known as the first skier to do a double cork 1260 in the halfpipe, David has his sights set on the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Discrete is proud to help him get there.

David's strength is Halfpipe, but he also competes in Big Air. On a recent trip to New Zealand David achieved two halfpipe podiums in the New Zealand Open and the NZ Winter Games as well as a Big Air win in the Methven Downtown Big Air. His 2010/ 2011 season highlights include being a finalist in his debut at the Winter X Games, a win at the European Freeski Open, two World Cup podiums, and a 3rd place finish at the AFP World Championships. At the Dew Tour finals in Ogden Utah David became the first athlete ever to perform back to back double corked 1260s in a halfpipe.

David will be based out of Reno, Nevada for the 2011/ 2012 season. He plans on competing in the Grand Prix Circuit, The Winter Dew Tour, The Winter X Games, X Games Europe and some “Downtown” Big Airs. He also plans on expanding his horizons with some filming and possibly a web series featuring fellow athletes on the competition circuit.
