Demands for IT Professionals Increases in 2012

Demands for IT professionals worldwide increased in 2012, making these workers as one of the most in demand professionals on the industry.

Missouri (I-Newswire) July 23, 2012 - The demands for IT professionals worldwide increased in 2012, making these workers as one of the most in demand professionals on the industry. The demands increased in the United States and United Kingdom as more and more companies look for the best professionals to help them.

KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation revealed on their recent study that IT skills are in short supply. They said that the need for technology degrees holder increased in January 2012 and experts said that they are already expecting an increase in the following months. The study also showed that there was a huge demand for temporary IT workers but it is lesser than permanent workers.

According to Bernard Brown, partner and head of businesses services at KPMG, given the continuous impasse that surrounds the Eurozone and the knock on effect it has on businesses, he said that it is really a surprise to see a modest increase in the number of permanent job placement across the U.K. He also said that the employers are beginning to accept that they need to hire the right people to kick start the economy.

Brown also said that as more people start chasing these jobs, the number of unemployment also increases. He said that the number of people who are hoping to fill these vacancies continued to rise because of the competition to be the right candidates. He said that the competition for the position is tougher.

This is also the main reason why a lot of technology colleges around the globe started to improve their facilities. They are now expecting more students to enter their schools to look for Master’s in technology degrees. Online technology schools also prepared for the increase of students in the next few years, based on the prediction of analysts. More and more students will look for top online technology degrees.

Brown said that despite this fact, there are still signs that things are looking up. The skills needed to handle and control the newest technology and software to improve business functions can only be provided by IT professionals. It has become a necessity for businesses to hire IT professionals to help them handle their business process more efficiently.

According to the research made by the recruitment firm Robert Half, 80% of CIOs are finding it hard to look for professionals with the right skills to support the investment plans of companies and businesses. They made a survey of 600 executives and they found out that there is a big demand on skills related to big data initiatives and mobile technology. According to 46% of CIOs, the IT professionals with technical skills in database management were in highest demand.

The other courses like computer science degree online, information management courses, and other computer related courses are still in demand on the industry. More and more students will continue to pursue careers on the technology field for the next few years and there will be more demands for IT professionals especially to the companies and businesses that are planning to expand their reach.
