Try to pick up something which you think will give you happiness, even if it might not be as highly paid. If you enjoy your job, you will sooner or later rise and help your company rise as well. If you are unhappy with your job, with time you will become indifferent to it.”

In his hour-long interaction with the UMA students, Mr. Sangram Singh also spent some time discussing the job market in the current situation and whether there really is as much cause for concern as there is made out to be. “After the global meltdown of 2008, quite a few sectors have emerged as recession-neutral, like banking, insurance, consulting, retail and FMCG. Infact, during the bad phase, the Higher Education space actually took off, as many decided to study.”

He pointed out that, considering the current spending trend, the middle-class’s disposable income has actually shot up. He pointed out that with spending in the rural space outdoing urban spending this year, it is a great opportunity for students from UMA to stick to Bihar and Jharkhand.
