East Providence, RI (I-Newswire) August 11, 2011 - When the East Bay Bike Path officially extended this July to connect from Woonsocket to Bristol – by way of East Providence – Deck FortyTwo owner, Bob Barrow, provided free bottled water to all cyclists who stopped in. And today, Barrow is announcing the official “opening” of his parking lot to any cyclists who wish to park there before 3 pm.

“When we opened Deck FortyTwo less than a year ago, we also made a commitment to do whatever we can to keep the environment clean and healthy.” Says Barrow. “We have a good-sized parking lot here. It’s a great way to encourage use of the bike path. And the space won’t hinder our dinner customers at all.”

In addition, Barrow said that any cyclists who come into the restaurant will be provided a free bottle of water. There is no food purchase necessary.

“Rhode Island has worked hard to breathe new life into this delicate, beautiful waterway that we overlook. The bike path is a splendid addition to our environment and we want to encourage its use.” Adds Barrow.

In July, an 8.5-mile stretch of specially marked roads that now connect the East Bay Bike Path with the Blackstone River Bikeway was officially opened. With the new connection, cyclists can enjoy a beautiful ride, stretching 33.5 miles from Woonsocket in the north to Bristol in the south.
