Chifici Family has built family owned New Orleans restaurants into nationally recognized brand serving authentic Creole cuisine. Featuring two restaurants, seafood market and online market shipping fresh Louisiana seafood throughout the U.S.

New Orleans, LA. -The Chifici Family is proud to announce its 30-year anniversary as owner/operators of Deanie's Seafood restaurants in New Orleans.

Deanie's Seafood Proprietor Barbara A. Chifici has built a locally owned, family-operated business employing more than 300 New Orleanians and serving nearly 1 million visitors and locals annually. Today, with a thriving seafood market and catering business, and two successful restaurants in New Orleans' historic Bucktown neighborhood and French Quarter, Deanie's Seafood is a local favorite known for its huge portions of the best boiled, broiled and fried seafood in a fun and casual atmosphere. Deanie's also prepares and ships delicious fresh and boiled Louisiana seafood to customers throughout the United States through its retail website, www.shopdeanies.com.

Deanie's Seafood is proud of its heritage of serving fresh Louisiana seafood prepared with Deanie's signature seasonings. A beloved New Orleans restaurant brand, Deanie's Seafood was voted "Best Seafood Restaurant in New Orleans" by readers of Gambit Weekly magazine, and the restaurants' authentic New Orleans cuisine is nationally renowned and featured on various Travel Channel and Food Network programs. Deanie's recipes also have been showcased in Gourmet magazine and in cookbooks such as Chef John Folse's "Hooks, Lies and Alibis. It is located online at www.deanies.com.

Deanie's Seafood French Quarter restaurant, 841 Iberville St., is the vision of owner Barbara Chifici. Located at the corner of Iberville and Dauphine streets just a block off Bourbon and Canal streets, it opened its doors on Dec. 26, 2001 after an 18-month building renovation.

Deanie's in the French Quarter was an instant draw for locals and tourists alike and was profitable within its first year of operations. Following Hurricane Katrina, Deanie's Seafood returned with a new focus on serving the community, adding private dining rooms, an engaging courtyard and an expanded kitchen during renovations due to storm damage. Today, the French Quarter restaurant serves more than 400,000 customers a year.

Both Deanie's restaurants are go-to locations for football fans during the NFL season. Deanie's in the French Quarter hosts Saints Radio Network's live broadcast of "The Point After" show on WWL Radio following each New Orleans Saints game.

The Chificis also support a number of community and school-based initiatives in New Orleans. Most recently, Mrs. Barbara commissioned local artist James Vella to create a glass aquarium representing Louisiana's gulf coast and dedicated it to the America's WETLAND Foundation. The 4-foot-by-5-foot aquarium sculpture is a permanent installation at the French Quarter location and serves as a warm reminder of Deanie's love for and commitment to Louisiana's unique culture, environment and the people that sustain our local economy.

"Louisiana Seafood is such a big part of our culture and economy. We're really proud to be able to contribute to continuing the tradition of great seafood, great friends and good times," said Deanie's Seafood proprietor Mrs. Chifici.

Its third-annual Pinch-A-Palooza Festival, held April 22 at Deanie's Seafood in Bucktown, brought more than 800 people to celebrate Crawfish season and pinch 1,000 lbs. of Seasoned boiled Crawfish during a daylong festival benefiting the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation.

Deanie's Seafood is respected as a true community partner. Deanie's is a member of the French Quarter Business Association, New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau and Louisiana Restaurant Association, and supports many local causes and programs. Deanie's also participates in various local community events and festivals, including French Quarter Festival, Louisiana Seafood Festival, Taste at the Lake, Taste of the Town, Essence Festival and Edible Schoolyard New Orleans' annual Edible Evening.

Deanie's Seafood will be highlighted in the Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau Oyster Trail, a three-year campaign focusing on Jefferson Parish restaurants serving Louisiana Oysters. Deanie's will display a custom oyster sculpture designed by a local artisan and will be featured in a Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau Oyster Trail brochure.
