DC Networks LAUNCHES mp21 DC Store

(I-Newswire) November 11, 2009 - Florence Italy – DC Networks announces the launch of a new area for the digital distribution, that is full integrated in the operating system of the company: the DC Store.
Thanks to this new development, DC Networks' website, www.digichannel.net, is focused on artists and production companies promotion, web TV and digital distribution.

Via the new DC Store it is possible to distribute and sell audio, video, photo, books, games and more in maximum or original quality by creating exact copies of the original source. The content is
inserted into MPEG-21 objects (.mp21) and protected by encryption. “Media storage format developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG); based on a "meta-box" format that contains audio or video data referred to as the "Digital Item;" also includes metadata that describes the media. MPEG-21 files typically use the .MP21 file extension.”

The download of .mp21 objects is free of charge and is allowed by the “BitTorrent” system over a dedicated peer-to-peer platform. The use – PLAY – of such downloaded content is allowed only after the purchase of the license to decrypt the object.
Once the .MP21object is downloaded it looks like a regular file with the artist name and the title of the works contained. It is enough to double click on it either on the disk or inside the p2p DC Store to begin the Paypal payment and the subsequent decryption procedures.
The .MP21file can be inserted via the .torrent file or directly in all and any p2p platform for a larger scale diffusion and viral distribution. Since the .MP21object is protected by encryption its content is playable only after the acquisition of the necessary decrypting license.
