Cushman & Wakefield Inks 34,724 Square Feet of Lease Renewals for STV

Paramus, NJ (I-Newswire) January 19, 2012 - Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. has negotiated two lease renewals totaling 34,724 square feet on behalf of STV in metro Baltimore. STV was represented in the signings by Hayes Merkert of Cushman & Wakefield’s Baltimore office and Walter Schoenberg of the firm’s East Rutherford, N.J. office, who represents STV nationally.

STV, a New York-based, employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, environmental and construction management company, ranks among the top 25 firms nationally in educational, correctional, rail and transit facilities, and highways and bridges. “STV has had a long-term relationship with the same landlord at both Baltimore area locations, and that relationship will continue,” said Merkert.

In the larger of the two transactions, STV renewed for 27,000 square feet at 7125 Ambassador Rd., a 50,600-square-foot, two-story office building within Rutherford Business Center in Woodlawn, Md. The landlord was represented in-house. STV utilizes the site to manage its area-wide operations, including several state and federal government contracts.

“Located in the I-695, Baltimore Beltway corridor, the submarket is home to the Social Security Administration headquarters and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which provide a strong economic benefit for the region,” said Merkert.

STV also renewed for 7,724 square feet at 8019 Corporate Drive, a 33,270-square-foot, one-story building within the White Marsh Business Community, a master-planned community in White Marsh, Md.

“The STV group at this location works specifically on a subcontract with the Maryland State Highway Administration,” said Merkert. “The long-term project involves ongoing design work on I-95, currently under construction.”
