CROS NT Acquires Symphony EDC System
Symphony is a simple web-based Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system for collecting, managing and reporting data from clinical trials.
Verona (I-Newswire) January 25, 2013 - CROS NT acquired Symphony EDC system from Powertrial. Professor Stephen O'Brien, an academic haemotologist from the Northern Institute of Cancer Research at Newcastle University, helped design the system in order to create a user-friendly technology for Investigators. Symphony is now part of CROS NT's life science technology portfolio.
Symphony is a simple and inexpensive technology to effectively manage clinical trials and collect patient data electronically. The system is accessible via a web browser using secure log-in credentials. Each clinical trial professional involved has a personalized homepage to view all assigned studies. Symphony contains essential EDC features like integration with ePRO, query management, and an audit trail.
The Symphony EDC system is ideal for smaller studies that require a reliable, but cost-effective, solution - very suitable for biotech, medical device, Phase IV and Investigator-led studies as well as studies conducted by academic institutions.
"Our decision to acquire Symphony was based on our commitment to smaller companies who need support in building and managing studies. CROS NT has a portfolio of clients who could greatly benefit from a simple EDC system such as Symphony. It was a strategic decision to expand our life science technology offerings to meet the needs of all types of Sponsors," says CEO, Paolo Morelli.
Symphony's key product features include quick study build, a simple user interface, real time reporting and a public trial space to publish information and documents to share with a wider global audience.
The product is further supported by Arithmos, who provides 24/7 technical support for Symphony via a HelpDesk ticketing platform or toll free number. Arithmos can also customise the system and provide an eLearning platform.
