Cricket Wireless to Perform “Random Acts of Kindness” at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Cricket Communications Inc., a leading provider of affordable wireless services, has announced plans to participate in this year's Random Acts of Kindness event at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Houston (I-Newswire) January 31, 2013 - Cricket Communications Inc., a leading provider of affordable wireless services, has announced plans to participate in this year's Random Acts of Kindness event at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The full Cricket staff will be on hand on the rodeo's very first night this year, February 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., interacting with the rodeo crowd outside the doors of Reliant Stadium. Cricket employees and volunteers will perform Random Acts of Kindness such as opening doors for people with strollers, giving directions to those who may need them, picking up trash, passing out napkins or hand sanitizer, and taking photos for rodeo visitors. Last year's 2012 edition of the Random Acts of Kindness event was very well received by an appreciative crowd of rodeo attendees, and saw the participation of numerous social groups and charitable organizations.

On February 25, not only will the Cricket staff be present busily making the crowd smile, Cricket will also have on-site giveaways, with rodeo attendees taking home free phone cases, T-shirts, hats, koozies and more. In addition, one lucky family will receive a free phone and service.

"Cricket is not just a wireless company," said Jorge Vasquez, area general manager for Cricket Communications East Texas & Louisiana. "We believe that making a difference through simple courtesies brings our employees and the community in which we serve together. We value the opportunity that participating in this event delivers, and we're grateful to have the chance again this year to participate in it. We believe that our participation in a small way represents our very big commitment to the community that we serve as a company."

Cricket will be actively participating at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in a variety of ways for nine nights beginning February 25. Cricket is the presenting partner of the Rockin’ Rodeo Party Pavilion and on various nights will be hosting exclusive performances from Muve Music artists for Cricket customers. On five nights of the rodeo (March 1, March 7-8, March 14, and March 16), the public should be on the lookout for the Cricket giveaways as they enter Reliant Stadium via the Amegy Gate.

Added Vasquez, "We go the distance to make Cricket not only a great wireless provider, but also a great place to work. We see Random Acts of Kindness as a reflection of who we are. It's a way for our employees to give back to the community through these simple, selfless acts. It's also a way for us to share the culture of our company."
