Uxbridge (I-Newswire) March 22, 2013 - Cornell University’s Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) School is offering Labour Relations certificate programs in Collective Bargaining and Contract Administration in Canada beginning June http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/LRCanada. The school has formed a partnership with a Canadian firm, Oakbridges Labour Relations Strategists Inc. www.oakbridgesconsulting.ca , to advance Canadian content and to bring on Canadian faculty.
These courses have been adapted to the Canadian context. Training methods include Canadian case studies, experiential exercises and interactive approaches. Course participants will receive a certificate of completion from Cornell University.
The ILR School and Oakbridges believe the cross-border connection is important given so many companies having operations in both countries. Labour Relations training remains an important element in any organization’s business strategy.
Labour relations issues have been in the forefront of the news in both countries. New emerging economies and competition along with plant closures, relocations, concessionary bargaining and increased legislative attention highlight a range of industrial relations issues. The ILR School and Oakbridges believe that there is a need to train new professionals in operations, finance and HR to meet the growing need for bargaining and contract administration skills.
The Industrial and Labor Relations School was established in 1945 at Cornell University, an Ivy League university located in Ithaca, New York. Oakbridges Labour Relations Strategists Inc. is a Canadian-owned management consultancy established in 2012 by a group of seasoned labour relations subject matter experts.
