Consumer Action Group Launched To Expose Vauxhall Tyre Issue

A new website has been launched for motorists with issues relating to Vauxhall excessive tyre wear

High Wycombe (I-Newswire) November 9, 2012 - A frustrated Buckinghamshire UK driver has launched a website A frustrated Buckinghamshire UK driver has launched a website www.Vauxhall-Tyre-Action-Group.co.uk/forum after 6 months of refusal by Vauxhall Cars to admit any liability for abnormal and excessive wear problems occurring to rear tyres on a new top of the range Zafira . Vauxhall maintain a stance of not providing any form of warranty for tyres fitted to new cars.

Tyres can be subjected to unusual or abnormal wear should the vehicle's ideal geometrical setup (even at time of manufacture) not be exactly to the manufacturer's specification. Unfortunately, tyres are a good example of key items on a vehicle that motor manufacturers frequently disclaim liability for.

So this is where the consumer can be unfairly penalised on costs. Whilst front wheel tracking equipment is held in most maintenance establishments, rear wheel geometry alignments often need specialist equipment that dealerships have to outsource, passing on the cost to the customer.
This Vauxhall Zafira owner has been refused any compensation by the manufacturer despite the geometry of the vehicle actually being found to be out of specification and adjusted by an appointed Vauxhall's agent after the significant abnormal tyre wear had been spotted by one of their main dealers.

Vauxhall has been unwilling to provide support even when Bridgestone Tyre Company's technical inspection report on the worn tyres concluded that the abnormal wear was most probably down to a geometry setup issue.

The Action Group Website intends to publish statistics on this problem and invites new Vauxhall owners who have experienced tyre problems to visit the website forum to relate their experiences in order to establish facts and figures.
