MetaStar to host full-day symposium for health care professionals in the Wisconsin Dells on Nov. 1.

Madison, Wisconsin (I-Newswire) September 29, 2011 - MetaStar, a nonprofit quality improvement organization, will be hosting the MetaStar Health Care Quality Symposium: Keeping the Patient at the Heart of Quality Improvement. This full-day event will explore multi-faceted quality improvement and will help all who work on quality improvement efforts to focus on the reason to undertake such activities – to provide safer, better quality health care to patients.

The day will open with Meg Gaines, Director of the Center for Patient Partnerships, setting the stage for the day from the perspective of a patient and patient advocate. There will be breakout sessions throughout the day with tracks on continuous quality improvement principles, clinical topics, health information technology, Baldrige in health care, quality leadership, and TeamSTEPPS: the evidence-based teamwork system to improve communication. The day will conclude with an opportunity to share the day’s learnings with other attendees.

“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for health care professionals from all settings to enhance their efforts and connect with others interested in improving care,” said Jesi Wang, Vice President for Quality Resources at MetaStar.

Upon completion of the Quality Symposium, participants will be better able to:

Use practical tools and approaches related to clinical care, health information technology, quality improvement, and health care administration as means for improving the quality of health care delivery in their organizations

Recognize the patient as being the key reason for continuously improving the quality of health care

Develop methods to increase the effectiveness of their contributions to organizational efforts for delivering high quality care

Apply principles of successful change to improve how health care services are delivered by their organizations

Create action plans for improving care in their organizations

The symposium will take place at the Kalahari Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells. Registration is $99 per person, which covers breakfast, lunch, and breaks. To view the complete conference brochure, including a full agenda, and to register online, please visit www.metastar.com/symposium.
