A member of Conant’s NEW Veranda Collection, the Heat Index & Wind Chill Gauge reports not only the actual, but also the “feels like” temperature. An area shaded in yellow, orange and red at the top of the instrument dial displays the Heat Index – a phenomenon which occurs when high temperatures and humidity combine to make the outdoor air feel hotter than it really is. Meanwhile, a blue-shaded region at the bottom of the dial displays Wind Chill, which occurs when cold temperatures are accompanied by a significant breeze, creating conditions that seem colder than the thermometer alone indicates.
