Chicago, IL (I-Newswire) March 16, 2011 - Compass to Care, The Mike & Sandy Ernsdorff Childhood Cancer Foundation, announced the appointment of Mario Alberico and James Williams to its Board of Directors.

"The addition of Mario and James to Compass to Care's Board of Directors will help us expand our organization’s ability to serve an even greater percent of the children battling cancer and their families. Mario and James are perfect directors because of their excellent leadership skills, extensive management experience, involvement in the cancer community and dedication to the children and families who need our travel assistance,” said Michelle M. Mr. Alberico’s impressive career led him to the prestigious position as a Partner in the Financial Service Division of Accenture. This role afforded Mr. Alberico the opportunity to positively impact the company via sales and business management, marketing strategy and product development. He is currently serving as the Chairperson of the patient advisory board for adult survivors of pediatric cancer at the Robert Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in Chicago and the Executive Director of the not-for-profit organization Foundation 119 which he founded and with the mission to help alleviate the suffering of the poor, the oppressed, the orphaned, the widowed and the afflicted. As a childhood cancer survivor, Mr. Alberico dedicates his time and shares his experiences as a guide and mentor for young adult cancer survivors to help them live a rich and purposeful life.

“We are ecstatic to have Mario join our Board of Directors,” said Erndorff. “As a childhood cancer survivor, he has a unique empathy for how this disease impacts children and their families. His proven experience with sales directives will guide our foundation as we seek funds to sustain and grow our capability to serve more families.”

Mr. Williams currently serves as the President at CDH Proton Center, a ProCure Center, where he oversees the center's development, growth, and operation. He is a skilled health care operations executive with more than 20 years of experience managing leading health care providers and medical groups. Prior to joining ProCure, he provided operations and strategic advisory services to health care companies, private equity investors and their portfolio companies and management teams. Mr. Williams has also served as COO of DaVita Lifeline Vascular Access and as COO and Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Vein Clinics of America.

“James’ success at building and growing health care organizations is paramount to Compass to Care. His strategic leadership coupled with a vision into the lives of young cancer patients will help us move the foundation forward, with an eye towards operational excellence,” Erndorff commented.

These additions increase the number of Compass to Care’s directors to five. In addition to Alberico and Williams, the members of Compass to Care's board include Dina Bright, the controller at Jackmont Hospitality; and Mike & Sandy Ernsdorff, after whom the foundation was named.
