Communities for People Counseling and Wellness Program

Communities for People(CFP) has enhanced its Counseling and Wellness Program formerly known as the Outpatient Program. The Counseling and Wellness Program will offer clients therapy options as well as alternatives to traditional talk therapy.

Providence, RI (I-Newswire) August 7, 2012 - Communities for People(CFP) has enhanced its Counseling and Wellness Program formerly known as the Outpatient Program. The Counseling and Wellness Program will offer clients therapy options as well as alternatives to traditional talk therapy. It will include individual, family and couples therapy, Therapeutic Sports, HealthRhythms drumming therapy, and Wellness Coaching.

The program strives to assist clients in achieving self-identified goals and improve their behavioral health. This program is the only program CFP offers in Rhode Island that is open to the public and accepts insurance payment from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, United Behavioral Health, and Neighborhood health Plan of Rhode Island.

The new component in this program is Wellness Coaching. This is based on a one-on-one relationship focused on driving clients towards desired changes in their health, fitness and overall life satisfaction. Our Wellness Coaches help participants work on various concerns including but not limited to stress management, weight loss, exercise, nutrition, and career and relationship issues.

Therapeutic Sports provides action-oriented therapy in groups that meet weekly. All groups are facilitated by licensed clinicians and serves youth ages 6-12. HealthRhythms combines group drumming with guided imagery for ages 5 and up and has been scientifically proven to have health benefits.
