Cleversafe Selects Apposite For Network Simulation

Apposite Technologies today announced that Cleversafe has selected Apposite’s Netropy network emulators for testing the performance of Cleversafe’s storage products over wide area networks.

The world's largest data repositories rely on Cleversafe’s dispersed object storage technology, which provides redundancy by simultaneously storing objects on multiple storage nodes across physically dispersed locations. WAN impairments such as latency and packet loss complicate synchronizing the multiple copies and require comprehensive functional and stability testing to ensure optimal performance.

After extensive evaluation, Cleversafe selected the Netropy WAN emulation products to test their products across a wide range of network conditions. The Netropy WAN emulator is available in three models, the N60, N90, and 10G2 to simulate any type of network from low speed links to multiple 10 Gbps connections. The N60 simulates up to 15 separate links to an aggregate of 1 Gbps through one pair of ethernet ports. The N90 simulates up to 60 separate links through 4 pairs of gigabit ethernet ports. The 10G2 simulates up to 30 separate links through two pairs of 1/10 Gbps SFP+ ports. All models offer the same advanced emulation features combined with an intuitive, browser-based user interface.
