CIS to Speak at the West Coast Forum on Sunshine and Aggregate Spend and Assist Manufacturers with Sunshine

Judy Fox, Director, Transparency Compliance and Adam Toronto, Associate Director, Commercial Compliance, will speak at the 4th Annual West Coast Forum on Sunshine and Aggregate Spend, taking place in San Diego on April 23-25.

Compliance Implementation Services (CIS), a leading life sciences consulting firm, today announced that Judy Fox, Director, Transparency Compliance and Adam Toronto, Associate Director, Commercial Compliance, will speak at the 4th Annual West Coast Forum on Sunshine and Aggregate Spend, taking place in San Diego on April 23-25. Fox and Toronto will discuss the importance of continued compliance to state laws and regulations and the impact Federal Reporting will have on Corporate Compliance Programs in the session entitled, "Ensure State Law Compliance - Disclosure and Beyond." The discussion will focus on the exposure federal reporting will put on compliance to the state requirements and compliance programs in general.

As the August 1, 2013 deadline for data collection under the Sunshine Act draws closer, CIS is providing manufacturers with "readiness assessments" to identify gaps in their current processes. CIS provides a plan to help manufacturers remediate concerns in preparation for federal transparency and disclosure reporting while remaining compliant with existing state regulations.

"CIS' Sunshine Act Readiness Assessment allows manufacturers to evaluate the alignment of current programs for state mandated compliance and transparency reporting to the requirements for federal reporting under the Final Rule. Each assessment is based on the manufacturer's interpretations of the regulations, the impacted business activities, the data being collected and any systems used for data capture," said Judy Fox, Director, Transparency Compliance at CIS. "As compliance experts, CIS also takes the readiness assessment a step further and provides observations on the impact that transparency reports may have on the manufacturers' compliance program."

CIS has provided compliance and transparency reporting services to over 30 clients within the past five years. CIS' Sunshine Act Readiness Assessment reference guide, which outlines the process and proven methodology for Sunshine Assessments, is available for download at http://cis-partners.com/short/sunshinereadiness.
