Retirement property housebuilder Churchill Retirement Living scooped 3 awards including a Gold at the What House? Awards ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel for Best Retirement Development
London (I-Newswire) November 28, 2011 - Specialist developer Churchill Retirement Living is celebrating a hat-trick of recent awards wins, including the prestigious Gold for Best Retirement Development at the What House? Awards 2011, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last week. The Churchill team collected this industry-leading prize for its Hamlet Lodge development in Gloucester from the host, comedian Hugh Dennis, at the glittering event in front of an audience of almost 1,100 of their peers.
The company picked up two further gongs at the Over 50s Housing Sector Awards, for Best UK and Best Global Retirement Housing Operator, an event where they have won something for the last three years.
The What House? Awards this year celebrated their 30th anniversary recognising the very best of new homes in Britain and once again demonstrated why they are considered to be the Oscars of the housebuilding industry. The panel of judges, drawn from journalists and property experts from a multitude of disciplines, commended Churchill Retirement Living for the affordability of the development, its amenities and location and the attention to detail that had been shown in providing new homes that took into account the specialist needs of their customers.
They concluded: "A retirement developer needs site acquisition, design and build skills, together with a real understanding of its customers' immediate and ongoing concerns and requirements. Churchill has it all, and deserves gold in a very competitive field."
Spencer McCarthy, Chairman and Group Managing Director of Churchill Retirement Living, says: "We are the UK's fastest growing privately owned retirement housebuilder, committed to listening to our customers, meeting their requirements and above all, delivering the highest standard of customer service at all times. It is wonderful to be recognised for these qualities not only by our owners, but by our peers in the industry."
Building new retirement homes from its foundation in 1994, Churchill Retirement Living now runs over 60 developments in the Midlands and South of England and has more in the pipeline. The company's typical development is within easy reach of local amenities, features a choice of one- and two-bedroom apartments that are built with accessibility and security in mind, has a 24-hour Careline in case of emergencies, dedicated lodge manager, communal facilities and a guest suite for the use of residents' visitors. Each resident is able to live an independent life with the peace of mind that help is at hand if needed, with plenty of neighbours and friends around to make the most of their retirement years.
