Church of Scientology Fights Unemployment

With the economy now in a constant downtrend, the Church of Scientology announced a course designed to help workers become more alert and intelligent in the workplace, thus being able to get and keep their jobs.

With 853 state layoff notices in Tennessee in March and another 1700 from Gaylord Opryland in June, the Church of Scientology enters the battle against unemployment with a new course to help people secure their place in the workforce.

The new Personal Efficiency Course was designed for people who need help on the job, find themselves struggling with co-workers or management or who want to be more efficient. It's intended to accomplish higher intelligence and alertness and good grounding in the handling of people in general, to the end of creating more pleasant and effective relationships and obtaining greater efficiency on the job. The course helps those seeking new employment or trying to sort out their current job, making it run smoother and fit into the work of others.

Within just a few weeks of its release, nearly a hundred students have benefitted from this 2 ½ hour course. "People are excited to find something that will really help them on the job," said Christine Lamborn who directs the course. "This is a tool for anyone and is being made available to anyone-not just Scientologists."

At a time when jobs are truly scarce, this will bring a much needed boost to the area. Rev. Brian Fesler, Pastor of the Church of Scientology, went into more detail-"The course is simple. You come in for 2 ½ hours, watch a film, do some practical exercises and you're done. It can help so many frustrated employers or the anxious workers who are just trying to do their job."

The requested donation for the course is $50.00 and students will receive a copy of the book The Problems of Work by L. Ron Hubbard. For further information, visit the Church at 1130 8th Avenue South or call 615-687-4600.
