The Christmas Giveaway by Steve Renner, well known online entrepreneur, kicked off on Saturday December 8, 2007, and within a few hours there was so much traffic coming in to the site that it literally caused a server meltdown.

The server hosting the site could not handle the traffic and slowed down to a crawl. Brian Lanberger, the operations manager of the data center said, "The server literally overheated and was smoking".
