Chimpy Joe Flea Face Game Launches For Android

One-man independent games development studio, Jazzlebags Games, announces today the launch of a new Android game, Chimpy Joe Flea Face, available for free from Google Play.

Hertfordshire (I-Newswire) January 21, 2013 - Chimpy Joe Flea Face is an arcade action game where your mission is to help Chimpy Joe rid his face of fleas, which jump out of his hair and harass him. At the same time, Chimpy has a pimple problem, so make sure you keep splatting those spots as well - let too many appear on his face and it's game over for this monkey. Oh, and don't go damaging his beloved bananas or splatting his friends the butterflies, as either of these behaviours will get you into trouble. To top it all off, Chimpy is also very conscious of his facial moles, so best not mention those to him either.

"Jazzlebags Games has been building apps for the Android platform for a year now and Chimpy Joe is our fifth release," says Andy Watson, the man behind the studio. "The splat genre has been around for a while, but Chimpy Joe gives players a little of something new, taking the splatting of stuff in another direction. I launched a very basic roughcut version of Chimpy Joe in mid-December to gauge reaction, then tweaked, modified and completed from there, culminating in the final 1.0 launch version that went live just a few days ago."

With levels that include time trials, chaos challenges and 'The Hard Way Home' uber-levels to test players’ reactions, split-second timing and splat skills, Chimpy Joe should appeal to all ages and can be dipped into for just a few minutes or players can lose themselves in the gameplay for longer.

“We’ve launched this game as a free download, as past experience has shown that this is what our Android game players want,” says Watson. “Since Ninja Fart Hero - our very first game - was released on Google Play in January 2012, we’ve had 9,596 total downloads across our inventory. Of those, only six downloads have been for a paid-for game. As a result, we continue to offer our games for free and incorporate a small banner ad in the footer, which has finally started to earn some money and now just about funds a monthly meal out at the local pub. For me, games development won't be displacing the day job any time soon.”
