Chilli Brings The Heat In New Season Of Rachel Vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off
Grammy Award winning singer competes for charity on popular Food Network show
Atlanta, GA (I-Newswire) November 21, 2012 - Five time Grammy Award winning singer Chilli, of the iconic female group TLC, is competing on the new season of Food Network’s show Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, set to air January 6, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT. The singer, dancer and actress will join forces with seven other celebrity hopefuls in a chance to win $50,000 for charity and bragging rights as winner of Celebrity Cook-Off. The eight celebrities will be divided into Team Rachael and Team Guy to compete in intense weekly challenges against each other.
In the season premiere Chilli is selected to join Team Guy and along with her teammates, Cornelia West (designer and author), Johnny Weir (Olympic figure skater), and Dean McDermott (actor) will battle against Team Rachael, whose team consists of Hines Ward (Super Bowl Champion), Carnie Wilson (singer, Wilson Phillips), Kathy Najimy (actress) and Gilbert Gottfried (actor, comedian). The teams will prepare a menu for a Los Angeles dinner theatre and perform a three-minute skit in front of special guest judges form Entertainment Weekly. Chilli will not only fight to win the title of Celebrity Cook-Off but also for funding for her charity, Chilli’s Crew.
Chilli founded her organization, Chilli’s Crew, to be a positive and inspirational force in the lives of young teenage girls. This past summer, Chilli hosted a summer camp in Atlanta, GA as a select intimate group of young ladies, ages 13-17, spent a weekend attending workshops focusing on beauty, health, business, and more. The objective of Chilli’s Crew is to promote and maintain positive self esteem and self-respect amongst the teenagers in one of the most difficult times in their lives. The organization provides them with resources and mentorships to support and encourage them in the everyday challenges of life.
The six episode season of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off will be full of surprises, drama, and laughter as Chilli and the other contestants take on each other for charity. The celebrities will find themselves in some awkward situations and arduous challenges as they put their culinary skills to the test and vie for the title and cash prize.
