Child Custody Storm Cloud Hangs Over The Sunshine State

NSW (I-Newswire) September 24, 2011 - Fighting Fathers Ministries have launched their new "Florida Child Custody" website to provide a one-stop information resource for separated parents in the Sunshine State who are facing a child custody battle.

In recent years, the State of Florida has alarmingly seen several of its counties occupy the top position of "Divorce Capital of the United States". According to the Florida Department of State Health Services there are still tens of thousands of marriage break-ups in Florida each year. In many cases, children have resulted from the marriage and parents are left wondering what their rights are in the child custody process; facing uncertainty, stresses and hardships in the ensuing legal proceedings. FloridaChild-Custody.com was created by a Christian ministry in response to this situation.

Fighting Fathers Ministries, headed by Rev. David Smith, recently toured Florida and met with several followers of their online social justice initiatives, with a view to establishing an online resource for parents in custody situations.

"Out here in Florida, you see so many more instances of marital breakdown and custody battles than we're used to seeing just about anywhere else", said Rev. David Smith, "I've been divorced. The separation was not amicable. I struggled initially to get access to my daughter. If you're a bloke who's been through this sort of thing, you know exactly what I am talking about."

"You often hear about the 'celebrity' custody arguments in the headlines, but for every such example there are dozens of regular, everyday folk facing their own marital breakdown, their own child custody nightmare, who mightn't have the same resources and support networks to turn to. These are the people who most need information, and we aim to help them out in that regard."

Prior to its launch, there hadn't been a website designed with a singular focus on Floridian child custody matters. This new site collaborates a diverse range of information from various sources that address the common scenarios faced by parents in a custody dispute, including legal issues, and the rights that they have under such circumstances.
