U.S.A. Tae Kwon Do Champion Arlene Limas Joins Forces With Lady éLan Films to Produce Screenplay. A Movie To Be Made In Her Honor.

Los Angeles, CA (I-Newswire) July 7, 2011 - In 1988, Arlene Limas helped to put The United States Tae Kwon Do Team on the map, by bringing home a gold medal from the Olympic Games. Her tremendous accomplishments gave leverage to the U.S. Team as the most gold medals ever won in the team’s history. And today this world Tae Kwon Do Champion’s life story is headed for the big screen.

Arlene Limas’ Martial Arts career began at the age of five years old. In her hometown of Humboldt Park in Chicago, Illinois Limas was sparring little boys and winning competitions by the age of eight. She continued into her teen years competing against women on the National level in Tae Kwon Do. After finding her niche in Tae Kwon Do, a few years later, Ms. Limas won the welter-weight spot on the 1988 Olympic Tae Kwon Do Team. And the rest is history.

Today Ms. Limas’ story is getting honored via film. Cherrelle éLan, of Lady éLan Films, approached Ms. Limas in 2008 during the 20 year anniversary of Ms. Limas’ Olympic win. Ms. éLan learned about Ms. Limas’ victories while a student studying film and practicing Tae Kwon Do at Howard University–the stomping ground where a few members of the U.S. Olympic Team trained for the 88 games.

After hours of interviews and several drafts later, éLan has since signed Emmy Award Winner and American Film Institute Graduate, Romell Foster-Owens of Jowharah Films to produce and direct. Presently located in Los Angeles, together this female team have geared up to create this action packed film titled Seoul, U.S.A.

Today Limas owns and operates PowerKix Martial Arts in Stafford, Virginia. Production for Seoul, U.S.A. is expected to start in 2012.
