CGI Successfully Acquired SBR Tri-Series From SBR Multisports

New York City (I-Newswire) June 14, 2011 - New York, NY – SBR Multisports, Inc. (SBR), today announced the acquisition of the SBR Triathlon Series by Competitor Group inc. the leading media and event resource in the active lifestyle industry.

Entering its fifth year, the two-event series of USAT-sanctioned sprint triathlons kicked off this past weekend in New York’s scenic Harriman State Park. The second event, scheduled for Saturday, August 13, 2011, will be rebranded as part of CGI’s TriRock Triathlon Series – TriRock New York presented by SBR. “We are excited to bring the TriRock Series to the greater New York metro area and joining forces with a retail partner like SBR is a natural fit,” said Scott Dickey, President of CGI. “Both companies share a vision of pushing the sport of triathlon beyond its niche endurance reputation, while supporting the active and vibrant triathlon community in the Northeast.”

The SBR sprint triathlon series focused on a low stress fun atmosphere catered to beginners while maintaining a height quality experience. New York’s musical multisport mash-up will feature a ½ mile swim, 16 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. The event will include live bands along the swim, bike and run courses, followed by a post-race party and concert.
