Central Presbyterian Church in Downtown Denver announces their upcoming December events, including a unique Children's Christmas Play, a Service for Wholeness and Healing, Virgin Bloody Mary's to ring in the New Year, and more!

Denver, CO (I-Newswire) December 12, 2011 - The holiday season should serve as a time for everyone to feel a part of something bigger- a family, a community. What about those of us without family members nearby? Or those of us that feel we just don’t ‘fit in’? Central Presbyterian Church is a local sanctuary dedicated to providing a come one, come all environment. With the announcement of their upcoming December events, Central extends a loving hand to the young, the young at heart, the ‘misfits’ and the lonely. Family, community and love are ubiquitous in the services and events they host.

Located in downtown Denver at the corner of 17th Avenue and Sherman Street, Central Presbyterian Church is not your everyday place of worship- it celebrates the true uniqueness of the members of the Denver community and strives to connect people in a sense of togetherness. Pastor Louise Westfall recognizes the importance of developing a ‘thinking faith;’ a modern understanding of the values of the Presbyterian Church in our time. “God has made everybody unique and special. At Central, we embrace that uniqueness in an environment that promotes healthy discussion and acceptance, despite the fact we often share different viewpoints.”

Just one of the ways Central Presbyterian Church celebrates different approaches is the church’s Cooperative Children’s Play taking place on December 11th. “It’s spontaneously produced and only momentarily rehearsed, which helps us to embrace a level of quasi-chaos as the kids get to pick their own parts and costumes- more than one Mary? More than one Joseph? No problem!”, says Jackie Kendall-Gebel, director of children’s ministry.

Save the dates and spread the word, Central Presbyterian Church is the place to be this season for those searching for fun, togetherness and inspiration. The following events are slated to take place over the Christmas season:

• Worship Services: December 4, 11, and 18 (10:30 a.m.)
• Children’s Cooperative Christmas Play: December 11, directly following 10:30 a.m. worship
• Service of Wholeness: December 21, 7:00p.m.
• Christmas Eve Services: December 24, 5:30 p.m., and 11:00p.m. (music begins at 10:30 p.m.)
• Christmas Day Service: December 25, 10:30 a.m. (Pay attention to the modified Christmas story: “You Shall Find Him Wrapped in a Denver Bronco’s T-Shirt!”)
• New Year’s Day Service: January 1, 10:30 a.m.
