CDAA, a South Australian certified digital development agency has, announced its sponsorship and participation at the Community Engagement Conference in Melbourne. The conference is held on the 16 and 17 of February 2011 at Sofitel Melbourne.

CDAA, a South Australian certified digital development agency has, announced its sponsorship and participation at the Community Engagement Conference in Melbourne, Victoria. The conference is held on the 16th and 17th of February 2011 at Sofitel Melbourne.

The two day conference will help government departments and agencies (Local, State and Federal) to better understand community engagement needs and expectations. Then developing innovative tools and techniques that enable them to have a genuine two way dialogue with their communities to truly understand their needs, and better inform policy decisions and service delivery outcomes to the communities.

Changing the value perceptions Governments have of community engagement is the key objective of this conference. This will eventually lead to meaningful change and sustainable community development. Thus, empowering and enabling communities to make informed decisions that will shape their future.

CDAA will be presenting at the conference and discussing topics such as planning, design and development for online and digital community engagement and measuring these outcomes.

The 3 main areas CDAA will be presenting on are:
• Designing for Online Community Engagement - Understanding the demographics to engage (personas identification). Designing the website to individually target these demographics / personas (family, tradespeople, employers, etc.).
• Building for Online Community Engagement - Building a website that provides a variety of ways to engage and interact to suit different comfort and skill levels.
• Measuring community engagement outcomes -
o How the demographics / personas are engaged with the website.
o Inform and improve planning and decision making.
o Improve community engagement practice; guide future activities
