The Arthritis Foundation has issued a "celebrity sizzle advisory" for CBS4 Weather Anchor Lissette Gonzalez in preparation for the Sept. 14 Kick Off of the Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade. Gonzalez will guest host the signature luncheon where representatives from local companies and civic organizations show their support for the more than 500,000 adults and children in Miami-Dade County affected by arthritis.

Gonzalez is the morning and noon Weather Anchor for CBS4 and viewers can watch her weathercasts weekday mornings from 5 am to 9 am and again at noon. She has hosted and reported for such nationally syndicated shows as "EXTRA," "Extra en Espanol" and "Livin' Large." Gonzalez is a former Miss Miami, Miss Florida and second-runner up to Miss America. She was born and raised in Miami and graduated from the University of Miami.

The Kick-Off will include motivational presentations by Dr. Michael M. Koonin, orthopedic surgeon and Walk Medical Honorary Chair, and nine-year-old Emma Alonso, Walk Child Honoree, who has lived with juvenile dermatomyositis for more than half her short life, as well as the premiere of the 2011 Let's Move Together Arthritis Walk video. The Luncheon will take place 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, 50 Alhambra Plaza in Coral Gables. An RSVP is required by calling 305-873-6323.

The Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade will take place Nov. 12 at Greynolds Park, 17530 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach and will include entertainment, refreshments, a kids' corner, education and goodie bags. Funds raised from the event will help the Arthritis Foundation, Broward/Miami-Dade Region provide summer camp for children like Emma with juvenile arthritis, community outreach, local programs, health education and arthritis research.
