Cardinals And Rangers Battle It Out In The World Series

Lexington, VA (I-Newswire) November 1, 2011 - In the world of baseball, the World Series is everything, and this year, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers are in the midst of battling it out for the title, and it has been an exciting experience so far as the Rangers work their magic to shut out the Cardinals in Game 4 to tie the series at 2-2.

Aside from the tight competition between the two team, there has been a lot of action in this series, with a couple players standing apart from the rest and, not only making a name for themselves, but also making history. There is still a rough road ahead for both teams, but at this point in time, they have both demonstrated their strengths and shown that they are both forces to be reckoned with.

During Game 3, Albert Pujols of the Cardinals became the third player in history to hit three home runs in a single Series game, joining the ranks of Babe Ruth who did it twice in 1926 and 1928, and Reggie Jackson in 1977. Going even further, Pujols made World Series history by being the first player to ever go 5-for-6 with home runs, as well as matching Bobby Richardson and Hideki Matsiu with six RBIs.

With a huge lead over the Rangers, the Cardinals left Game 3 thinking they were invincible, but to their surprise, Rangers' left-handed pitcher, 25 year old Derek Holland, entered Game 4 and dominated. Holland almost single-handedly shut out the Cardinals, and paired with Mike Napoli, who hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rangers won 4-0, tying up the series at 2-2.

At this point, it's anyone's game, but one thing is for sure, this World Series is panning out to be one of the most exciting in history, and as we go into the remaining games, it's clear that nearly anything is possible.
