Canadian Writer/Director Takes Aim At Aliens In New Film

Online, December 12, 2013 (Newswire.com) - A long standing staple in the Canadian film industry, Brent Cote has caught fire in Hollywood as of late with multiple projects in development in both TV and film. From science fiction to crime dramas and action/thrillers, Brent's slate is diverse, extensive and all highly sought after by producers, development executives and stars.

Cote recently made headlines by announcing he would be partnering with the industry leading Cantina Creative and Madhouse Entertainment to bring aliens to life in his upcoming feature film, SELECTION. Cote is set to direct the visual effects heavy, high concept project which is catching fire around Hollywood.

The original screenplay was written by Brent Cote and America Young and while producers are keeping details of the film secret, they have said the project will include an original take on aliens and the science fiction genre. Brent directed a proof of concept short film in 2013 that was the inspiration for the film, which has the potential for a new multi-film franchise.

Cote will not waste any time when the film wraps in 2015, jumping right back into the directing chair for his crime drama, Tainted.

Brent is also currently promoting his one hour TV pilot, BOOST, a throw back to action films of the nineties, which has the interest of numerous cable networks and studios. His spec action thriller, American Riot is being produced in house at Madhouse Entertainment, while his grounded science fiction script Mercs is in final development.
