California Health Insurance Assistance Program Awarded 2009 Grant Funding

(I-Newswire) October 14, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA – In an effort to assist California Medicare beneficiaries to obtain better, more comprehensive information about their health care choices, approximately $3 million in grant funds is being distributed to California State Health Assistance Programs (SHIPs).

The 54 “SHIPs” provide Medicare beneficiaries nationwide with local, personalized assistance on a wide variety of Medicare and health insurance topics. The funds being distributed are part of a $35.8 million grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
