GM has green-lighted the development and future production of a large, rear-wheel-drive sedan that is set to compete against the BMW 7-series and Mercedes S-class. The 2013 Cadillac ATS will be offered with several engine options. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is capable of generating 200 horsepower and 188 lb.-ft. of torque, and the 2.5-liter’s turbocharged option boosts those numbers to 270 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The turbocharged engine promises to be fun and exhilarating drive, but for the driver looking for even more power, Cadillac has yet another option. The 2013 ATS offers an available 3.6-liter V6 engine that will only be available in North America, and produces 318 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque.
