Brookside DVD In The Works - 4DVD

Liverpool (I-Newswire) December 16, 2011 - Channel 4's biggest Soap Opera 'Brookside' has a return via DVD in the works for next year which celebrates it's 30th Anniversary.

Brookside is still a well talked about soap even though it was axed in 2003 after viewing figures went below 1 million.

Brookside started the acting careers of Anna Friel, Ricky Tomlinson, Jennifer Ellison & Sue Johnston.

Channel 4's DVD company 4DVD are working on a project with Brookside Fans website 'www.BrooksideFans.com' after they sent in a Petition requesting a DVD to be made for the anniversary by almost 6,000 fans.

Brookside was on air for 21 years.

Lee Brady who runs the Brookside Website said: "We are really happy with the progress 4DVD are doing, They asked me to get as many fan ideas as possible for a DVD picking their favourite storylines & moments to relive them again on a special DVD next year, it would be a great Christmas seller for next year"

There are so many other excellent stories you may remember.... Jimmy Corkhill battling with the drugs! Sheila being raped! The famous helicopter crash! The first lesbian kiss shown on a soap! Yes Brookside was good til’ the end… going out with a bang – in its last ever episode most of the close rallied together to kill Michaelson, a drug dealer that was a nightmare for them all!
There really are loads of great nail-biting storylines that would make for excellent viewing all over again if they were to be made available to buy on DVD!

If you’re a Brookside fan in any way shape or form, then we ask you to send in your favourite storyline suggestions, We want it released on DVD in November 2012. We’re amazed there isn’t already a DVD released! A show as good as Brookie deserves to be on DVD, the fans that followed the show for its entire run are itching at the chance to see this fantastic show on DVD.

Alot of the former cast including: Suzanne Collins, Dean Sullivan, Louis Emerik, Phil Olivier, Kris Mochrie & Steven Fletcher have all backed the campaign since it began in 2007. We even had a good meeting with Phil Redmond himself who was really happy with our progress.
