Broken Head Holiday Park Gear Up With New Activities List

Byron Bay camping and caravan resort, Broken Head Holiday Park, has introduced a new list of activities to their website which holiday makers can look forward to over the coming months.

Those looking for some outdoor activities to enjoy on holiday this week should take a look at Broken Head Holiday Park's new activities schedule. Options include trekking on some of the finest bushwalks in the area, most of which cover either tropical rainforest or coastal cliffs or - if walkers choose routes such as the Cape Byron Lighthouse Walk - a combination of both natural landscapes.

A spokesman for Broken Head Holiday Park said this year at the resort was busier than ever activities-wise for families, couples and individuals. He added: "Not only is there plenty of entertainment, but we have also upgraded our Holiday Park facilities recently and this makes for a far more comfortable stay all round. For instance over the past couple of years we've doubled the number of cooking BBQs available at the site, as well as come up with a number of new stainless steel benches."

Other improvements include a smaller BBQ site on the south side of the Holiday Park, upgraded disabled facilities and the addition of a new Laundry Area complete with three dryers. Another plus for campers is the wider range of foods now available at the campsite kiosk. This includes sauces, ice cream and bags of ice.

Management at the park were always on the lookout for more potential improvements which needed to be made. The spokesman added: "Everyone who has been able to take advantage of these new facilities has told us what a difference these extra little touches have made to their holiday. And on that note - we're always grateful for our guests' feedback and welcome any comments they may like to provide at reception or on any of our social media channels. We will always respond to them."

**Activities to enjoy at Broken Head Holiday Park**

Walking - The fact Broken Head Holiday Park sits practically on the beach means the Lighthouse Walk in particular is easily accessible. It's only a two mile all-round stroll and happily there is the chance to sit down at the end of it for refreshments such as tea and ice cream in the airy lighthouse cafe.

The Walk begins from Watego beach on Broken Head Holiday Park and passes by the rainforest at Arakwal National Park. As well as the opportunities to spot various marine lives such as migrating whales, dolphins and rays, trekkers can also look forward to the stunning views of Mt Warning and Lennox Head from the top of the lighthouse itself.

Trekking - Round almost every corner sits a national park. Eight of the parks have a form of heritage status. Many of the semi-tropical rainforests contain endangered wildlife and insect species and it's not advisable to go off the trails.

Surfing - There are several excellent surfing beaches in Byron Bay; most notably The Pass for the more experienced surfer. To improve their surfing credentials those who love the sport can brush up their skills at one of the many surfboarding schools dotted around the Byron Bay coast line. Meanwhile, the armies of young surfers riding the waves also makes excellent spectator material.

Other energetic activities to be experienced while on holiday in Byron Bay include water kayaking, diving, mountain biking and hang gliding. There's also the opportunity to head for the skies in a hot air balloon or to try a shot of hang gliding.
