Toyota has released a new robot helper aimed to assist the elderly and disabled with every household tasks. The robot responds to the spoken word or commands from a tablet and can assist people with picking up items on the floor, retrieving an item from a different room, and even has an extendable arm to reach items in high places.

Toyota developed the Human Support Robot (HSR) in association with the Japan Service Dog Association. The HSR went into home trials last year and will be soon introduced to the public at a Rehabilitation Equipment show in Tokyo.
