Book Drive Benefits Team Success Students

Local Businesses Hold Book Drive for Bradenton, Florida Charter School

Bradenton, FL (I-Newswire) November 27, 2012 - Three local businesses are holding a holiday book drive for students of Team Success, a Title 1 charter school in Bradenton.

“We plan to give each student three books for Christmas,” said Mary LeMay of Alltrust Insurance. “Team Success is about the whole child. We want the children to know that Christmas is not just about toys; it’s also about their education.”

Alltrust Insurance is a sponsor of the book drive, along with Gateway Bank and Al Purmort Insurance.

The book drive will be held between November 16 and December 15. The public is asked to donate new or used books for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The drop-off locations are Gateway Bank at 2100 Manatee Avenue W. in Bradenton and 1100 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota; Al Purmort Insurance at 3340 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota; and Team Success school at 202 13th Avenue E. in Bradenton.

As a Title 1 school, Team Success serves students of low-income families. The school’s pioneering approach, dedicated teachers and commitment to students have enabled it to climb from a “F” school to an “A” school in two years.

Team Success also makes sure the students’ needs are met so that they are ready to learn. Recently, the school partnered with the Elks Club to provide food backpacks for children to take home during the weekend. The school also partnered with Prevent Blindness Florida, a nonprofit organization, to pay for vision screenings and glasses. From school supplies to winter coats, the school finds a way to make sure no student is distracted from learning.
