Best Selling Memoir Release for Former Los Angelite

The book, Overlay: A Tale of One Girl's Life in 1970s Las Vegas, has been available for Kindle and in paperback since March 2012 and has regularly featured in the top 10 books of its category on Amazon, attracting hundreds of 5-star reviews.

Former Los Angeles author Marlayna Glynn Brown has published a paperback about her childhood in 1970s Las Vegas.

Marlayna lived in Las Vegas from the 1960s through the 1980s. She left the area to live in Los Angeles and then Texas, and has now been traveling the world for the past two years having visited more than twenty countries.

The book, Overlay: A Tale of One Girl's Life in 1970s Las Vegas, has been available for Kindle and in paperback since March 2012 and has regularly featured in the top 10 books of its category on Amazon, attracting hundreds of 5-star reviews. It remains one of Amazon's top three most highly-rated memoirs, and has won a 2013 Next Generation Indie Book Award.

Overlay tells the story of Marlayna's childhood as the daughter of a casino worker and cocktail waitress, showcasing many of the dysfunctional and transient characters who often populated Las Vegas during the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Marlayna is a graduate of Santa Monica College, California State University Long Beach and Capella University and also attended Loyola Law School.

Marlayna is currently living in the Dominican Republic. Overlay is her first book, followed by City of Angeles, Big as All Hell And Half of Texas, The Trilogy, Lovers Liars and Lotharios, One Day The Invitations Will Stop Arriving, and her most recent release Rest in Places: My Father's Post-Life Journey Around The World.
