The employee survey was completed by Quantum Market Research (QMR), an independent human research firm, and only the top ranked companies made it in the Dallas Business Journal. PrintPlace.com was listed in the mid-sized business classification.

For the survey, QMR asked employees of each company questions about their workplace and divided companies into four categories: small businesses (1-100 employees), mid-sized businesses (101-500 employees), large businesses (over 500 employees), and businesses outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. With 101-500 employees, PrintPlace.com placed in the mid-sized category. The Dallas Business Journal only listed companies who met QMR's 95% confidence level for number of responses of each company involved in the survey (margin of error plus/minus 5%).
